Pay Per Call: What is it?

Pay Per Call is a new type of online advertising that is becoming increasingly popular in the USA. The concept is similar to Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising, but rather than paying for clicks, advertisers pay for calls received from potential customers. Pay Per Call: What are its advantages?

With Pay Per Call Companies are only obliged to pay their advertising agent once they have received a call via the toll-free telephone number. This is advantageous to the advertiser as it allows him to engage directly with potential clients and thus greatly enhancing his chances of securing business.

Pay Per Call gives businesses the opportunity to specifically target potential customers by allowing them to define their own search terms and to choose the geographic regions in which their ads will appear. As such Pay Per Call adverts can be specifically tailored to an advertiser's specific needs.

Unlike Pay Per Click, there is little risk of fraud. Although Pay Per Call rates are somewhat higher than Pay Per Click rates, there is far more certainty that callers are genuine, and conversion rates of enquiry-to-customer, tend to be high.

Another advantage of Pay Per Call is that advertisers do not necessarily have to have their own website or even their own email account. Many local customers are also happy to be able to call businesses directly, particularly in cases of relative emergency (i.e. searching for a locksmith or plumber).
